I have a job, but I also have some self-employed income that I pay taxes on. How can my PAYE tax code collect my self-assessment tax?
The following conditions must be met in order for your self-assessment tax to be collected through your PAYE tax code:
Your tax bill must be less than £3,000 in order to qualify.
If you are an employee or receive a corporate pension, you must already pay tax through PAYE.
If any of the following apply, you will not be able to have your tax bill paid using your PAYE tax code:
The tax cannot be collected since you do not have enough PAYE income.
You’d have to pay more than half of your PAYE income in taxes.
You’d end up paying more than double the amount of tax you normally do.
You must have submitted your paper tax return by October 31st or your online tax return by December 30th following the end of the tax year in order to get your tax classified.
